Run Game

RUN & Shoot. Yes, the run game is a vital part of the Offense. However, the purpose is to throw the ball and set up explosive runs. Some RBs in some systems will have 10 carries for 50 yards. In the Run & Shoot (in theory), the RB/SB can have 2 carries for 50 yards, etc. etc. It’s not the style that counts, it’s the production. It’s also important to note that while the Shovel/Slip screens are technically pass plays and go towards pass yardage, it is viewed and used as an extension of the run game as the ball is caught behind the LOS. RB/SB know the game will come to them.
