Jet/Fly

Jet and Fly – Jet and Fly are essentially the same play/idea, but each coach may package terminology differently. In most playbooks it’s considered a run play, but if you have a playmaker and would like to get some slick passing stats, utilizing the “Pop Pass” in place of a handoff doesn’t hurt. Film of both are below. The Pop Pass is often safer in terms of it being considered an incomplete pass (if not executed correctly) but many feel the direct handoff hits faster and practice time is worth the results. If you enjoy the traditional Run & Shoot way of running motion before each snap, doing so can help open up the Jet/Fly game. All in all it’s, really about finding creative was to expand the run game and create misdirection while keeping the offense’s base/look familiar to the players. There will be more on this topic via Triple Shoot section in time.
